Sissy’s Log Cabin’s ‘Back to School and Bling’ Event Returns
The jeweler donated school supplies to Memphis, Tennessee, students during the event combining basketball and mentorship.
Sissy’s Log Cabin’s “Back to School and Bling” event provided more than 30 Memphis, Tennessee, students with skill sessions from NBA Memphis Grizzlies player Jaylen Wells and Junior Grizzlies coaches, along with dinner, new school supplies, commemorative t-shirts, and signed player posters.
Memphis, Tenn.—Sissy’s Log Cabin’s “Back to School and Bling” event returned for its second year last week to benefit local Memphis, Tennessee, students.
The event was held at the FedExForum in Memphis, home of the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team.
Basketball and mentorship were combined during Back to School and Bling, which served more than 30 students from Streets Ministries, a Memphis organization that offers resources for local youth such as after-school programs, college tours, and physical fitness activities.
The students spent the afternoon engaging in games and skill sessions with Memphis Grizzlies player Jaylen Wells and the Junior Grizzlies coaches.
The jeweler said the students gained hands-on instruction and encouragement while experiencing the excitement of playing in a professional setting.
“What makes this event meaningful is the way it brings mentorship and community support together in one experience,” said Eric Ballentine, executive director of Streets Ministries.
“For our students, moments like this can build confidence and leave a lasting impression as they move though the school year.”
Once off the court, participants had dinner in the Sissy’s Log Cabin Floor Seat Lounge, where the students received donated school supplies, commemorative “Back to School and Bling” t-shirts, and signed player posters.

The event builds on a series of community collaborations between Sissy’s Log Cabin and the Memphis Grizzlies to create special experiences for local youth, a tradition that began when Sissy’s Log Cabin became the official jeweler of the Grizzlies and FedExForum in 2022.
The Back to School and Bling inaugural event took place last year.
“Back to School and Bling has quickly become one of our favorite events because you can see how much it means to the students,” said Wyatt Jones, vice president of Sissy’s Log Cabin and Memphis store manager.
“We’re grateful to the Grizzlies and Streets Ministries for helping us impact young people in a way that goes far beyond basketball.”
Sissy’s Log Cabin is a family-owned and family-operated jewelry store with eight locations across Arkansas and Tennessee.
The jeweler said it carries forward the philanthropic vision of its founder Sissy Jones by continuing to make an impact by supporting local organizations and fostering meaningful community connections across Arkansas and Tennessee.
