Nanis Transforms Its ‘Boule’ Into a Mirror
Our Piece of the Week is a pair of drop earrings from the “Sway” collection featuring Nanis’ first use of mirror-polished gold.

It is only fitting that an Italian brand would be a standout when searching for the perfect Piece of the Week in Vicenza, Italy, and that piece is a pair of “Sway” earrings.
These drop earrings are true to Nanis’ signature “Boule” silhouette but there is a twist—slicing the 18-karat yellow gold ball in half and using a mirror polish for the first time.
Usually, Nanis’ Boules feature hand-engraved millerighe burin. That brushed texture remains on the curve of the ball while the flat surface becomes a mirror framed by 0.12 carats of round-cut diamonds.
The use of these two opposing textures creates depth and variation of light as the Boules move with the wearer.
Nanis said the collection celebrates spontaneous and sophisticated femininity as each piece lives, moves, and transforms with the wearer.
“With Sway, I wanted to give movement a voice. I wanted the gold to move, to create its own sound, and for light to come alive with every gesture. Nothings is ever still: every reflection changes, just as every moment does,” said Laura Bicego, president and creative director of Nanis.
“This is the soul of Sway for me, to capture something fleeting and make it yours, to mirror the moment.”
Our Piece of the Week embodies every element of the latest collection: voluminous form, reflection, movement, and sound.
Within the 53-piece collection are necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets in a bigger, bolder size or a more minimalistic, lighter size.
The Sway earrings retail for $6,230 and are available, alongside the Sway collection, on the Nanis website.
