Bromberg & Co. Names New President
Marlin “Brian” Hood, who has been with the store for 20 years, will succeed Ricky Bromberg, who died earlier this month.

Marlin Hood, who goes by Brian, is now at the helm of Bromberg & Co. and will lead alongside Vice President Kathryn “Kitty” Lovelady, who has been with the jeweler for 40 years.
Bromberg & Co. said that Hood and Lovelady will work closely with the Bromberg family, whose members remain active on the board of directors.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hood is an attorney who earned his law degree at the Birmingham School of Law.
He has been with the jeweler since 2007, serving as manager of its Mountain Brook, Alabama, store, which is currently undergoing renovations that are scheduled to be completed in fall 2027.
Bromberg & Co. also has a store on Summit Boulevard in Birmingham, Alabama.
A spokesperson for the company’s board of directors said both Hood and Lovelady have “deep knowledge” of the jeweler’s customers and traditions.
“We have tremendous confidence in them as a leadership team and look forward to working together to uphold the standards, relationships, and personal service that have defined Bromberg & Co. for generations,” the spokesperson said.
Hood said leading the company is “an extraordinary honor.”
“Kitty and I share a deep respect for the Bromberg family, Ricky’s legacy, and the people who make Bromberg & Co. what it is,” he said.
“We look forward to working with the family and our entire team to preserve those traditions while building for the future.”
Founded in 1836 by Frederick Bromberg, a Prussian immigrant, Bromberg’s is one of the oldest family-owned businesses in the country and is the oldest jeweler and family-owned retail business in Alabama.
