Jewelers of Louisiana to Host 80th Convention
The event, scheduled for next month in New Orleans, will include dinner, a custom jewelry design contest, and education sessions.
The Jewelers of Louisiana Convention is slated for Aug. 29-30 at the Harrah’s Hotel in the Caesars Casino in New Orleans.
New Orleans—The Jewelers of Louisiana convention is returning next month with a lineup of education sessions.
The organization’s 80th annual convention is scheduled to take place Aug. 29-30 at the Harrah’s Hotel in the Caesars Casino in New Orleans.
The two-day event will begin with dinner and an awards ceremony for the organization’s custom jewelry design contest on Saturday night at Galatoire’s restaurant in New Orleans.
Sunday’s activities will take place at the Harrah’s Hotel, including education sessions on sales, the state of the industry, and hot market items.
Dr. Donya Ball will host two sessions, “Brilliance by Design- The Growth Code for Lasting Leadership Impact” and “Shine Online- How AI and Social Media Can Elevate Your Brand.”
Ball is an international keynote speaker, leadership expert, and best-selling author. Her work explores real-world leadership challenges and offers actional insights that resonate across industries.
Gail Brett Levine will present “Antique Jewelry Through Time: Identifying Georgian and Victorian Eras, Styles, and Motifs.”
Levine is an independent personal property appraiser who has worked with everything from antique and period pieces to estate jewelry.
She founded Timeless Inc., which does jewelry appraisals for insurance, estate, claims, and charitable donations, created the Auction Market Resource for Gems and Jewelry, and is the executive director of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

Stuller’s Harold Dupuy will present the “Jewelry Industry Insights” session.
Dupuy, who is Stuller’s vice president of strategic analysis, has been in the industry for four decades and has worked for public corporations, regional chains, and owned his own jewelry store.
He is a fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain, a GIA Graduate Gemologist, and an ASA Master Gemologist Appraiser.
Maria Gentle of Jewelers Mutual is also slated to host a session.
