AGA Opens 2026 Gemological Scholarship, Research Grant Applications
Applications are open for the AGA Gemological Scholarship Program through May 15, and until June 2027 for the Gemological Research Grant.

The two initiatives were designed to support individuals around the world who are pursuing education and advancement in the field of gemology, said AGA.
The AGA Gemological Scholarship Program is for individuals who are committed to a career in gemology and are seeking assistance to further their education.
The winner of the scholarship will be chosen by the AGA Board of Governors based on merit and financial need.
They will receive up to $500.
AGA is accepting applications for the scholarship through 11:59 p.m. PT on May 15.
Interested applicants can apply on AGA’s website.
The AGA Gemological Research Grant aligns with the organization’s mission to promote gemological education and research.
It provides up to $10,000 of funding for approved research projects, as decided by the AGA Board of Governors.
Applicants must have an established relationship with a gem research laboratory or a scientific institute to accomplish the proposed project and should have a degree in science and/or extensive experience in a related gemological field, AGA said.
Applications for the research grant are open until 11:59 p.m. PT on June 15, 2027.
