Leslie Roskind Joins Hindman Auctions in New York
She will be the auction house’s senior specialist for jewelry and watches for the Northeast region.
After more than two decades working for auction houses like Christie’s and Bonhams, Leslie Roskind is moving to Hindman Auctions.
New York—Hindman Auctions has announced a new hire to its recently opened New York office.
Leslie Roskind joins the auction house as senior specialist, jewelry and watches for New York and the greater Northeast region.
“Leslie’s international experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow Hindman New York,” said Gemma Sudlow, managing director, New York region.
“Her appointment underscores our dedication to developing the firm’s presence across all collecting categories in the Northeast as we look towards an exciting fall season.”
In addition to New York, Hindman has jewelry specialists in Chicago, Palm Beach, Denver, and San Diego, with a total of 16 offices throughout the United States.
Roskind will work alongside the jewelry and watch teams in those offices and Chicago Senior Specialist, Jewelry and Watches Ruth Thuston in her new role.
Thuston added, “We are delighted to welcome Leslie to the department and are excited by the impressive range of experience she will bring. Pairing her distinctive expertise with our existing Jewelry and Watches team will be a great resource for the firm as we continue to grow.”
A decades-long veteran of the auction, retail, and wholesale world, Roskind most recently was the senior specialist and interim head of jewelry for Bonhams in Hong Kong.
During her time there, she helped the local team achieve its most profitable year since 2018, Hindman noted, expanding sales and widening the buyer base as she collaborated with teams globally.
Before that, Roskind spent 17 years working for Christie’s jewelry department in both New York and Los Angeles.
There, she was involved in the sale of the jewelry collections of Elizabeth Taylor and Ellen Barkin.
Roskind also worked as director of acquisitions at Fred Leighton.
She holds a bachelor of arts in history from Boston University. She also has a Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America.
She is a member of the American Society of Jewelry Historians, Gem X, and The Glitterati.
“I’m excited to join Hindman’s New York office and to be working with such a successful team throughout the country,” Roskind said.
“It’s a pleasure to join the firm as the business continues to evolve, and I’m looking forward to bringing exceptional collections to market.”
