Serendipity3, Lorraine Schwartz Are Serving Up Diamonds
In honor of Valentine’s Day, the restaurant and the designer have created an extravagant dessert topped with a diamond ring.
This “Diamond Frrrozen Hot Chocolate,” priced at $250,000, comes with a diamond ring by jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.
New York—In honor of Valentine’s Day, notable New York City restaurant Serendipity3 partnered with jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz on a special treat.
The restaurant is best known for its Frozen Hot Chocolate, crafted with a custom blend of 14 gourmet cocoas and topped with whipped cream.
To bring some sparkle to the holiday, the restaurant and Schwartz have created the “Diamond Frrrozen Hot Chocolate,” adding edible "diamond" glitter and 23-karat edible gold gilded chocolate shavings with gold straws, accompanied by a gilded chocolate sphere filled with edible sugar “diamonds.”
It’s served in a fishbowl-like goblet decked out in Austrian crystals, designed by artist Kellie DeFries, also known as the "Crystal Ninja."
Inside the gilded chocolate sphere, the recipient will find an 18-karat white gold and diamond bypass ring, featuring a 0.69-carat natural fancy pink heart-shaped diamond and a 0.77-carat natural very light blue pear-shaped diamond, highlighted by 1.15 carats of white diamond pavé.
The extravagant one-of-a-kind dessert is priced at $250,000 and is only available on Valentine’s Day.
"As big lovers of Lorraine Schwartz, we were thrilled to get to work with her on this special Valentine's Day Diamond Frrrozen Hot Chocolate featuring some of her gorgeous pieces," said Chef Joe Calderone, creative director at Serendipity3.
"The dessert is over-the-top in all the right ways and we know our Serendipity3 customers are absolutely going to love it."
The restaurant, located at 225 E 60th Street in Manhattan’s Lenox Hill neighborhood, said it will soon serve its 30 millionth frozen hot chocolate.
Popular among celebrities, the frozen drink has been served to Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, Grace Kelly, Justin Bieber, and Blue Ivy, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
