Greenland Ruby Launches Virtual B2B Marketplace
Greenland Ruby has named Arnt-Eirik Rørnes its new CEO.
New York—Greenland Ruby has chosen a geologist with an oil industry background as its new CEO.
Arnt-Eirik Rørnes has taken on the role, succeeding Magnus Kibsgaard.
The former CEO has left to pursue a career in another industry, according to a spokesperson.
Prior to joining Greenland Ruby, Rørnes was working with Leonhard Nislen & Sonner AS (LNS), Greenland Ruby’s parent company, for the past six months to assess its new mining projects.
In his new role, Rørnes will oversee a strategy for increasing sales and analyze historical mining data and operational strategy.
Frode Nilsen, CEO of LNS and chairman at Greenland Ruby, welcomed Rørnes to the team.
“We will greatly benefit from his international experience and broad expertise in terms of further development of Greenland Ruby. His contribution will strengthen the company in the important phase it is in now,” said Nilsen.
Rørnes said he has been fascinated by LNS and its “willingness to think unconventionally.”
“Therefore,” he said, “it is particularly important for me to succeed in making this a financially sound project. I am already well underway with the tasks and look forward to working closely with our people in Greenland and other locations.”
The colored stone company mines rubies and pink sapphires in Aappaluttoq, Greenland.
