JSA Reward for Texas Grab-and-Run Suspect Doubled to $5K
A warrant for his arrest has been issued after he stole a 3.4-carat diamond ring in McAllen on Aug. 22.
After a retailer matched its original reward of $2,500, Jewelers’ Security Alliance is now offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect, wanted for a string of grab-and-run robberies in Texas.
New York—The reward for information leading to the arrest of a grab-and-run suspect in Texas has been doubled after he struck again.
Jewelers’ Security Alliance alerted its members via email Aug. 18 about a suspect believed to have carried out multiple grab-and-run-robberies over the last few weeks, noting it was offering a $2,500 reward for information.
At that time, robberies had occurred in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio from Aug. 1-15.
But on Thursday, Aug. 25, JSA sent out another email alert, noting the reward had been doubled after the suspect carried out another grab-and-run of a 3.4-carat round diamond ring in McAllen on Monday, Aug. 22.
Dollar losses from his crimes amount to $500,000, JSA said.
An arrest warrant has been issued by the McAllen Municipal Court for the suspect, who has now been named as Emmanuel Shaft Thompson, 28.
He is described as 5 feet 6 inches and 160 pounds.
Thompson was seen leaving the parking lot in McAllen in a white Kia Optima with no front or back plates, accompanied by a black male and a driver accomplice.
A retail jeweler has matched JSA’s original reward of $2,500, bringing the total reward to as much as $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.
