Tierra Whack Debuts Jewelry Collection at Banter by Piercing Pagoda
Jewelry designer Malyia McNaughton collaborated with the rapper on a 16-piece capsule collection.
Grammy-nominated artist Tierra Whack, the first creative director at Banter by Piercing Pagoda, just released a 16-piece capsule jewelry collection.
Dallas—Tierra Whack wears many hats: rapper, songwriter, creative director at Banter by Piercing Pagoda, and now, jewelry designer.
The Grammy-nominated artist launched a 16- piece jewelry collection for the chain retailer, including rings, bracelets, charms, earrings, and a necklace.
To create the collection, Whack worked alongside jewelry designer Malyia McNaughton of Made by Malyia, a member of the Black in Jewelry Coalition Board.
McNaughton was part of the inaugural group of the Emerging Designers Diamond Initiative, a project by the Natural Diamond Council and designer Lorraine Schwartz, aimed at creating a more equitable fine jewelry industry.
The collection incorporates Whack’s love for music, animals, and “unapologetic self-expression,” said Banter by Piercing Pagoda.
The pieces, available in 10-karat and plated gold, range in price from $55 to $1,750.

The collection features initial jewelry, including these 10-karat gold earrings ($150) and sterling silver rings plated in 14 karat gold ($75).
The “Wings” studs in 10-karat yellow gold set with cubic zirconia ($265)
A giraffe charm in 10-karat yellow gold, set with cubic zirconia ($165)
The “Wiggity Whack” studs in 10-karat yellow gold ($290)
The “Music to My Ears” hoops in 10-karat yellow gold ($1,300)
Whack, known for her creativity and bold lyricism, is a natural fit for Banter by Piercing Pagoda as it looks to appeal to Gen Z and millennial customers.
The company rebranded itself as Banter by Piercing Pagoda in August 2021, having been known as Piercing Pagoda for more than 50 years, shifting its focus to helping customers express their individuality through jewelry and piercings.
“As part of the Signet Jewelers portfolio, the brand caters to the Gen Z and millennial customer who expresses themselves boldly through their personal style. Similar to Whack’s mission, the brand’s goal is inclusivity for all people,” said the company.
Whack’s approach to the newly created role, which she will hold for one year, was documented through a content series, shared via the banner’s social media.
Banter has released a series of five episodes on its YouTube channel, where Whack stars alongside two quirky puppets, known as her “creativities.”
The new collection is available now online and in all Banter by Piercing Pagoda locations.
