Santa Fe Symposium to Host Its Last Event Next Month
The 34th, and final, conference for jewelers is scheduled for May 22-25 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Attleboro, Mass.—The Santa Fe Symposium will host its final event this May.
With the retirement of Rio Grande’s Eddie Bell, who co-founded the symposium in 1986, organizers have decided to bring the event to a close after one more farewell conference.
The 34th annual Santa Fe Symposium is scheduled for May 22-25, with three and a half days of presentations sharing research, information, and know-how in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Presentations range beyond manufacturing and casting-related topics to include a variety of subjects like tarnish resistance, titanium for jewelry, vintage design, and more.
Examples of sessions include “Basic Metallurgy of the Precious Metals, Part IV: Deformation Processing, Joining, and Corrosion” by Dr. Christopher W. Corti; “Wear Resistance of Platinum and Gold Alloys: A Comparative Study” by Teresa Fryé; and “The Influence of Tools on Design: A Study on Openwork Silverware” by Janjaap Luijt.
Every afternoon, after all presentations are finished, the day’s speakers will gather on stage for a question-and-answer session open to everyone.
At the end of the final day of presentations and after the final Q&A session, there will be a drawing for $1,000, which all present symposium attendees can win.
Registration fees for the Santa Fe Symposium are based on number of attendees.
For one attendee, the price is $1,495. For two, registration is $1,470 per person, and for three or more the price is $1,445 per person.
