AGTA Will Still Hold 2 Trade Shows in 2021

This includes the launch of a new event: AGTA GemFair Denver in September.

Dallas—The American Gem Trade Association still plans to hold two trade shows this year.

The organization will hold its GemFair Las Vegas in August, alongside the other rescheduled industry shows, and has introduced a new event for 2021—AGTA GemFair Denver, slated for the fall.

AGTA GemFair Las Vegas show will happen first, from Aug. 24-26 at the Encore Resort.

Originally scheduled for June, the event was put on hold due to coronavirus concerns.

The Encore—a one-year only location, according to CEO Doug Hucker—is part of the same resort complex as the Wynn, where the Couture show and the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show will be held over the same three days.

Each show will have separate registrations, the organization noted, but AGTA will honor Couture and LVAJWS badges.

The event also coincides with Reed’s rescheduled 2021 JCK Las Vegas show. Luxury’s by-invitation-only event is Aug. 24-26, then it opens to all attendees from Aug. 27-30. JCK is scheduled for Aug. 27-30.

“After such a hectic year, it was important to AGTA to provide a safe marketplace for our businesses,” said AGTA President Ruben Bindra. “We will work closely with Encore Resort and local health officials to make sure all safety protocols are in place for the show.”

Meanwhile, the second show from AGTA this year is a new one to its schedule.

AGTA GemFair Denver is scheduled for Sept. 18-21, in conjunction with a new event called the Hard Rock Summit, bringing together exhibitions, shows and highlights for those interested in gems and jewelry.
GemFair will be a part of Sparkle & Joy, a section of the summit dedicated to fine gemstones, gemstone objects, and jewelry.

“We are especially thrilled to start a new GemFair in Denver this year,” Hucker said. “It’s in a beautiful location, and the timing is perfect for stocking up for the holiday season.”

Registration for GemFair Denver will be accessible soon on the AGTA website.

Registration for GemFair Las Vegas can be accessed now on the AGTA website.

That event will be the organization’s first this year after having to cancel its annual Tucson gem trade show due to the ongoing pandemic.

The dates for its 2022 Tucson event are Feb. 1-6.
