What readers ‘liked’ most in 2014
From colored stone rings to interesting hand accessories, National Jeweler recounts the top pictures on its Instagram account this year.
New York--From trade shows to press events to interesting things seen around town, the National Jeweler team is constantly updating its social media accounts to connect with readers.
The Instagram account, @NationalJeweler, gets constant posts as the team explores new collections and new places. Highlights from the account this year include trade shows like Baselworld, the Tucson gem shows and Las Vegas market week, as well as the AGTA Spectrum Awards and WJA events.
As 2014 draws to an end, we recount the top Instagram images (meaning those with the most likes) on the National Jeweler account as of Friday afternoon.
While in Switzerland for Baselworld in March, Editor-in-Chief Michelle Graff got to see the opal earring that actress Cate Blanchett wore to the Oscars up close and in person.
Posted after a press appointment with the Luxury Brand Group team in July, readers loved this collection of beautiful colored stone rings from Coast Diamond.
The most-liked photo of the year was snapped at the press preview for the AGTA Spectrum Awards on Oct. 27. This emerald ring, by Dawes Design, was one of the entries that caught the eyes of National Jeweler’s editors.
Designer Allison Neumann stopped by the National Jeweler offices on July 30 to show a new collection as well as the stunning design of this two-finger ring, featuring a green tourmaline in the center.
Also an AGTA Spectrum Award entry was this popular sapphire and diamond ring set in platinum from Mark Patterson.
On June 10, Robert Procop collaborated with Platinum Guild International to showcase the designer’s newest platinum pieces at an event in New York City, where National Jeweler’s editors took this photo of an emerald and diamond ring.
National Jeweler sometimes strays from jewelry posts to give readers other images of things its editors like, and this sign at a local shop proved to be especially popular among those.
Dazzled by the beautiful lights in the entrance of the Wynn Las Vegas, readers also agreed that this way the way to be greeted while at Las Vegas market week.
Always a fan of interesting and intricate jewelry designs, National Jeweler’s followers loved this hand piece by Yeprem, snapped during a day looking at jewelry in the Fragments showroom in New York.
It seems like followers liked this Wendy Yue necklace as much as the editor who got to try it on did. The photo was taken at the Couture show in the Wynn during Las Vegas market week.
