Christina Puchi’s Earrings Hold the Universe
Our Piece of the Week gathers the planets, represented by a variety of colored gemstones, in a pair of 14-karat yellow gold earrings.

The rebrand began this summer with the rollout of the new name and updated website launching in September.
“I have so much pride in what we have built, how we have grown, and all we have learned. As you know well by now, I’m a work in progress, and so is this company,” said Puchi in a blog post.
“We will always be evolving, refining, and learning as we go.”
While its name may have changed, the brand is continuing to offer jewelry designed through the lens it is known for with materials like shells, wood, and colored gemstones and, of course, featuring its signature gold heart hidden on every piece.
A pair of gemstone earrings from the “Planet” collection that launched in March evoke Puchi’s ability to imbue a piece with meaning and are our Piece of the Week.
The 14-karat yellow gold earrings feature carnelian, rubellite, blue topaz, aquamarine, emerald, amethysts, and citrines—one oval cut and two carved cabochons.
Behind the two carved cabochon citrines are hidden gold hearts.
“When I designed these earrings, I was imagining being wrapped in the universe, the night sky. When I stand in the darkness under the vast sky, I feel both small and large at once,” explained Puchi.
“The pieces in this collection are a reminder that we are, all of us, not just one thing with one set of feelings and emotions but we can hold opposing views at the same time, can feel and be many different things while still remaining true to ourselves.”
When it comes to choosing which gemstones to represent the planets in the universe, Puchi looked to jewel-like tones and soft muted colors for these earrings because the opposing hues are how her mind’s eye changes at times when she imagines the planets.
This style is also available in other colored gemstone combinations as a reminder to Puchi that the same thing can look and feel different, she said.
The earrings retail for $6,980 and are available on the Christina Puchi website.
