Frederick Goldman Names COO, CMO
FGI President John Orrico is also leaving the company after more than 13 years.

Bryan Cowan has been promoted to chief operating officer, and Tom Schwartz to chief marketing officer.
As COO, Cowan will oversee FGI’s operations, including manufacturing, distribution, IT, planning and international operations.
He has previously held leadership roles across independent sales, operations, U.S. manufacturing, product development, and sourcing. Most recently, he was the company’s senior vice president of customer success and business development, independent and regional jewelers, as per his LinkedIn profile.
He has experience across both the commercial and operational sides of the business.
“Bryan has taken on increasingly broad responsibilities across FGI and has proven himself in each of those roles,” said Jonathan Goldman, chairman and CEO.
“His experience now spans sales, product development, sourcing and operations, giving him a strong understanding of our customers and how the business works. His promotion to COO is a natural next step.”
Cowan is a third-generation member of the Goldman family.
As chief marketing officer, Schwartz will oversee marketing, merchandising, and customer care.
He brings 30 years of marketing experience to the role. He has also served as the company’s vice president of marketing and senior vice president of growth and customer experience, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He will continue his responsibility for independent sales in partnership with vice president of sales Alisa Bunger.
“Tom brings tremendous knowledge of our company, customers, and industry,” Goldman said.
“Bringing merchandising, marketing, and customer care together creates greater alignment from product development through the customer experience, while providing important continuity as we move forward.”
FGI said it continues to focus on serving its retail partners while advancing key initiatives in product development, manufacturing and technology, including FreddySM, its new real-time parametric jewelry design platform.
“For nearly eight decades, Frederick Goldman has evolved while remaining a family-owned business focused on our customers,” Goldman said.
“We have an experienced leadership team, a clear direction, and a strong commitment to our retail partners. Our focus now is execution.”
The company also announced that its president, John Orrico, is leaving the company after more than 13 years with FGI.
During his tenure, Orrico contributed to several important initiatives across the business, including manufacturing technology, systems implementation, and the company’s move from New York City to Secaucus, FGI said.
“Leaving is bittersweet. What I'll remember most from these years isn't a single product launch or milestone. It's the people I got to build things with… The changes we made happened because these teams trusted one another, pushed each other, and kept looking for a better way,” Orrico said in a LinkedIn post about his last day at FGI.
Before joining FGI in 2012, Orrico held executive positions at Tiffany & Co., Maison Birks, and Mayors Jewelers, according to his LinkedIn.
