Maryland Jeweler to Close After 36 Years

Salisbury, Md.—G.B. Heron Jewelers in Salisbury, Maryland, is closing its doors after 36 years.
Owner Jeff Cassels is retiring, according to a post shared on the jeweler’s Facebook page.
Cassels founded the business in November 1988 after seven years of doing wholesale work for local jewelers, as per its website.
The jeweler got its start in a small brick building with bars on the window, but seven years later moved to a new, larger location.
“Fine craftsmanship, fair pricing, and honest retailing have become the hallmarks of our success,” said the company.

Cassels thanked the Salisbury community for being a part of his life, both personally and professionally.
“My wife and I raised two kids and have had a great life here since 1978,” he said.
“Thank you again for letting me live a great life here on the Shore. I love it here, and I’ll be out on the ocean or other waterways if you need to talk to me about anything other than jewelry.”
The store is currently hosting a going-out-of-business sale.
