GemGenève Is Gearing Up for Its Biggest Show Yet
More than 200 exhibitors are scheduled for the May 11-14 event.
GemGenève returns for its sixth edition in May.
Geneva—Pandemic slowdowns are definitely in the rearview mirror for jewelry trade show GemGenève.
Scheduled for May 11-14 at the Palexpo in Geneva, the show is anticipating its largest event yet.
Launched by antique jewelry dealers in 2018, the upcoming show will host more than 210 exhibitors, including laboratories, schools, and cultural partners like museums.
Of that total, 187 will be jewelry dealers representing 20 countries, the greatest number of dealers the show has ever hosted, said organizers.
A quarter of exhibitors are from the United States, while Switzerland, Hong Kong, Germany, Israel, Belgium, Thailand, India, and France are other major presences.
Of the returning exhibitors, 48 of them have participated in all six GemGenève editions so far.
The show’s first edition in 2018 attracted 147 total exhibitors comprising 120 dealers, plus 3,206 visitors.
The largest show was in 2019, with 210 exhibitors and 171 dealers.
Like any other trade show or event, the first GemGenève after the pandemic began was a smaller version, hosting 120 exhibitors (95 of them jewelry dealers) in 2021, as well as more than 2,700 visitors.
Now, the 2023 version is set to surpass GemGenève’s best numbers so far, with 20 jewelry dealers making their show debut.
Co-founder Ronny Totah said, “GemGenève will be taking over Hall 1 at Palexpo, with total exhibition space of over 13,000 square meters.”
The show floor will be arranged around four coffee stations and two main aisles. A lounge will host exhibition spaces and music and literary events.
“Indeed, music will be very much a part of the event this year, thanks to a concept designed by our director Mathieu Dekeukelaire,” said Totah.
Co-Founder Thomas Faerber said, “For this thoroughly redesigned spring edition, the setting will be firmly based on the theme of plants and organic life, welcoming visitors amid new tones characteristic of nature including beige, white, green and blue.”
Typically held in spring, GemGenève introduced its first fall edition in 2022.
