Zillion Announces 2023 Women in STEM Scholarship Winner

It’s awarded annually to a female student majoring in a STEM discipline.

Anjali Sivasothy is the recipient of the “Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship.”
Palo Alto, Calif.—Zillion is betting on the future of women in the sciences, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

The insurance and technology company has announced Anjali Sivasothy is the 2023 recipient of the “Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship.”

Zillion created the $2,500 scholarship to support women in STEM by covering a portion of tuition costs for a student majoring in a STEM discipline at a college or university in the United States.

Sivasothy will begin her undergraduate degree at Rice University in Houston, Texas, this fall. She’s interested in majoring in engineering or computational mathematics.

Of all the scholarship candidates, Zillion said it saw Sivasothy as a role model for other young women interested in STEM.

The company selected her in part because of her interest in improving housing insecurity for low-income Houston families.

“Zillion values curiosity, courage, and a dedication to solving problems,” said Zillion Managing Director Adam Black.

“Ms. Sivasothy has embraced these guiding principles, and we are thrilled to award her with this year’s Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship. All of us at Zillion look forward to seeing her thrive while she further develops her academic talent and actively works to improve housing insecurities in low-income areas.”

The application for the 2024 Zillion scholarship will become available this fall.

Sivasothy is the third scholarship recipient.
