GSI Adds Longtime IGI Executive to Team

New York—An industry veteran with 30 years’ experience working in gem labs has joined the team at Gemological Science International.
GSI announced Tuesday the addition of Monika Biernacka as executive vice president of operations.
Biernacka spent the last three decades with International Gemological Institute, starting with the lab as an account executive in 1994 before ultimately working her way up to director of sales.
Debbie Azar, GSI president and co-founder, said Biernacka’s years of experience will be an asset to the lab.
“I am thrilled to welcome Monika to GSI,” she said. “Our team is made up of leaders from the diamond and jewelry industry, and I am confident that Monika’s experience and vast industry knowledge will help GSI achieve continued growth and success.”
In her role as executive vice president of operations, Biernacka will focus on enhancing GSI’s client experiences, developing and executing new sales, and operational initiatives.
She said: “I am delighted to join such an esteemed and prestigious global gemological organization.
“The GSI brand continues to build consumer trust and confidence in our industry through its integrity and innovation. I look forward to creating new opportunities that will be beneficial for GSI, its clients and the entire diamond industry.”
