See the Greek Jewels Going to Auction for Charity
Several Greek jewelry designers have donated pieces to the annual Hellenic Initiative silent auction.
The “Daphne Pendant” from brand Zolotas. It’s crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and features lapis lazuli and diamonds. The pendant hangs from a satin cord. Valued at $2,165, its opening bid at the Hellenic Initiative’s silent auction is $1,100.
New York—It may be the time of year synonymous with gifts and excess, but it’s also a time for giving back.
The Hellenic Initiative’s 10th Anniversary Gala is scheduled for Dec. 3 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
The nonprofit organization raises money for programs that aid in crisis relief, entrepreneurship, and economic development in Greece.
One of its fundraising endeavors is its annual silent auction held in conjunction with its New York City gala.
As in years past, several Greek jewelry designers have contributed their work to the auction to raise money for the Hellenic Initiative’s mission. Designers include Lito, Lalaounis, Zolotas, and Katerina Marmagioli.
This year, the silent auction opens two weeks ahead of the gala on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 12 p.m. EST.
Bids may be placed online when the auction opens.

Lito 14-karat pink gold “Grand Blue” necklace with enamel and white and black diamonds. Valued at $2,185, the minimum bid is $1,100.
This Lalaounis “Amphora Necklace” crafted in 18-karat gold with a green tourmaline cabochon and diamond is valued at $935. The starting bid is $470.
This 14-karat white gold, diamond, and enamel pendant necklace by Katerina Marmagioli is valued at $2,650 and has a minimum bid of $1,300.
