Jewelers for Children Announces Board Changes

The nonprofit organization has added eight new directors.

New York—Jewelers for Children is adding some new faces to its board of directors.
 
The nonprofit organization held its annual board of directors elections last month, adding eight new directors.
 
Elected to three-year terms, they are: Rick Beckett of Skeie’s Jewelers; Brecken Farnsworth of Idaho Opal and Gem and Parlé Jewelry Designs; Susan Jacques of the Gemological Institute of America; David Hurley of Watches of Switzerland; Michael Langhammer of Quality Gold; Scott McQuaid of In House Jewelers; Luciano Rodembusch of Pandora Jewelry; and Jillian Roig of J.C. Penney.
 
JFC Chair Alan Zimmer, president and CEO of Reeds Jewels in Wilmington, North Carolina, was re-elected for another term.
 
“It’s an honor to continue to serve as the chair of Jewelers for Children and continue the amazing work of this organization and our entire industry,” Zimmer said.
 
“Our board of directors is truly an amazing group of dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to support our mission.”
 
Four directors were elected to second terms. 
 
They are: Lisa Bridge, Ben Bridge Jeweler; Adam Gerber, Goldstar Jewellery LLC; Eric Horowitz, Citizen Watch America; and Katie Zimmerman, Blue Nile. 
 
Several board of director officers were re-elected for one-year terms. 
 
They are as follows:
  • Katherine Bodoh, American Gem Society/American Gem Society Laboratories, vice president for charity programs;
  • Jeffrey Cohen, Citizen Watch America, vice president for fundraising;
  • Eric Zuckerman, Pac Team Group, vice president for special programs;
  • Jenny Luker, Platinum Guild International, vice president marketing and public relations;
  • Jake Duneier, Clyde Duneier, secretary;
  • Alexis Padis, Padis Jewelry, Legacy of Hope; and 
  • Charles Stanley, De Beers Group, treasurer.  
Debra Puzio will continue to serve as immediate past chair and as the chair of the nominating committee. 
 
Founded in 1999, Jewelers for Children has donated more than $60 million to programs benefitting children in need who are affected by illness, abuse, or neglect.
