2022 Gem Awards Postponed Until March

The January event is rescheduled due to the rapidly spreading omicron variant.

New York—In response to the rapid spread of the omicron variant of the coronavirus, Jewelers of America has postponed its 2022 Gem Awards event until March.

The 20th annual Gem Awards were scheduled to take place on Friday, Jan. 14 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

They are now scheduled for Friday, March 18 at the same location.

All sponsorships and tickets will be transferred to the new date.

“With omicron moving quickly through the United States, the Gem Awards Committee and the Jewelers of America board of directors had to make a quick and tough decision to move Gem Awards,” JA President and CEO David Bonaparte said.

“The health and safety of our guests is our top priority. We look forward to getting everyone together in March to celebrate our incredible honorees and nominees and thank everyone for their understanding.”

The 24 Karat Club Banquet, previously scheduled for Jan. 15, has also been postponed and will now be held on Saturday, March 19.

It will still be located at its planned venue, Cipriani South Street in New York’s Financial District.
