New York--In 2013, the National Jeweler staff opened new social media accounts to provide additional coverage of events and share the latest and greatest pieces making the rounds in the jewelry industry.
On Pinterest, the pins receiving the most re-pins or likes paralleled some of the top trends of the year in the jewelry industry: diamonds reigned on the social platform, with rings especially popular. A number of the most popular pins also featured pieces that matched Pantone’s 2014 color of the year, Radiant Orchid.
Meanwhile, many of the best Instagram images--those with the most likes and comments--were from special industry events and visits.
