Amanda’s Style File: Alexandrite and Moonstone
Pearls aren’t the only June birthstone.
Pearls may be the birthstone that most people associate with the month of June. They tend to dominate the birthstone conversation this month. However, there are two other gemstones that deserve their equal share of the discussion – alexandrite and moonstone.
Both have magical qualities about them. Alexandrite is a chameleon, changing its color depending on the light, and because the fine material is so rare, it is a true gem collector’s gemstone. Moonstone, like alexandrite, comes to life in different lighting. As opposed to changing color, moonstone simply comes to life with its ethereal glow.
