Gold Spotlight: Ray Griffiths
Taking on an apprenticeship with tiara makers and jewelers when he was 15, the training designer Ray Griffiths received in his youth has translated into the “crownwork” style he incorporates into his jewelry today.

Taking on an apprenticeship with tiara makers and jewelers when he was 15, the training designer Ray Griffiths received in his youth has translated into the “crownwork” style he incorporates into his jewelry today.
The Australian-born Griffiths has been designing for more than 30 years. He’s set up in a studio on Fifth Avenue in New York and offers pieces in 18-karat yellow gold and oxidized sterling silver with diamonds and colored gemstones.
His newest pieces feature his signature openwork design in link bracelets, necklaces and teardrop-shaped earrings.
