Van Cleef Picks a New President for the Americas
Helen King, who started out managing a single boutique for the brand 15 years ago, has been promoted to the position.
New York—Van Cleef & Arpels has a new president and CEO for its operations in the Americas.
Helen King started with the company 15 years ago as director of the brand’s South Coast Plaza boutique in Costa Mesa, California, rising through the ranks to become the director for Van Cleef on the West Coast, where she expanded the client base and boutique network for 10 years.
She has more than two decades of experience in the jewelry and luxury goods industries, having previously held management positions at Chanel and Dior.
A native of Hong Kong who speaks three languages (Cantonese, Mandarin and English), King is a graduate of the University of San Diego, and currently splits her time between California and New York.
She replaces Alain Bernard as president and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels Americas.
Bernard was promoted to president and CEO of Van Cleef parent company Richemont North America after heading the Americas market for Van Cleef for five years.
Van Cleef & Arpels President and CEO Nicolas Bos said of King: “Helen brings with her strong leadership and great knowledge in the world of high jewelry and its clients, as well as an expertise in building teams and developing strategy.”
