JSA Offering $10K to Catch an Armed Couple
Police believe that the pair have committed multiple armed robberies together over the past five years.
New York--The Jewelers Security Alliance is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man and woman who police believe have carried out multiple armed robberies in Georgia over the past five years.
According to a JSA alert issued Wednesday afternoon, the most recent robbery took place Tuesday at a jewelry store in Conyers, Georgia, about 25 miles east of Atlanta.
The couple came in together shortly after the store opened and walked to the back of the store.
The man allegedly pulled a gun from his waistband, vaulted the showcase and forced the sale associates to lie face down on the floor. The woman helped zip-tie the suspects--the same method used by the infamous female armed robber--and locked the store’s front door.
The two then proceeded to use the keys to open the showcases and left the store with a duffel bag stuffed with a “large amount of jewelry items,” the JSA said.
Prior to this week’s armed robbery, this same couple is believed to have robbed a jewelry store in Marietta, another Atlanta suburb, in February 2014, and one in nearby Snellville, Georgia, in June 2013.
The man also is wanted in connection with the October 2013 armed robbery of a jewelry store in Atlanta proper. Surveillance video from that robbery can be seen on the CBS 46 website.
The JSA said in the Snellville robbery, the man ordered the sales associates to the floor at gunpoint and the woman used a stun gun on them before the two cleaned out the safe, showcases and cash registers. Surveillance video from that robbery can be seen on AJC.com.
In the Marietta robbery, the JSA said it was reported that a third suspect--described as a black man between 40 and 50 years old and 5 feet 10 inches tall--might have been involved.
The male-female suspects are both black and said to be in their 30s. The man is described as being about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium or athletic build and tattoos of script writing on his neck. The woman is said to be about 5 feet 5 inches tall.
