Sasha Primak Acquires Gemlok
New York-based atelier Gemlok is best known for creating the innovative “bridge” setting that became popular in the bridal market.

Both companies are based in New York.
The acquisition is part of the manufacturer’s long-term vision of building a portfolio of jewelry companies rooted in craftsmanship, innovation, and established partnerships with independent retailers, it said.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Myriam “Mimi” Galli will continue serving as president of Gemlok to ensure a seamless transition for retail partners while leading the brand's next chapter with the support and resources of Sasha Primak.
“Gemlok has always been about craftsmanship and the relationships we've built with independent jewelers,” said Galli.
“Joining the Sasha Primak family allows us to continue that tradition while creating new opportunities for growth. Our retailers can expect the same dedication to quality, personal service, and handcrafted jewelry they've trusted for decades.”
Gemlok was founded in New York more than fifty years ago by Paris-trained master jeweler Jean Vitau.
Drawing on his European training, Vitau established a New York workshop dedicated to “uncompromising craftsmanship and timeless design,” Sasha Primak said.
The company began with producing eternity bands and later became known for its proprietary “bridge” setting, a technique created by Vitau that elevates the diamond, making finished rings more secure, snag-resistant, and visually elegant than traditional settings, said the company.
The innovation established Gemlok as a pioneer in bridal jewelry engineering, said Sasha Primak.
Beyond bridal jewelry, Gemlok offers necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and bespoke creations featuring top quality natural diamonds and vibrant colored gemstones, each handcrafted in New York by master artisans.
Gemlok’s pieces combine timeless elegance with artistic expression, said Sasha Primak.
The two companies have complementary strengths in engineering, design, manufacturing, and customer service, the manufacturer said.
“Gemlok represents what we admire about American design,” said David Primak, CEO of Sasha Primak.
“Its legacy is built on technical innovation and relationships that have been cultivated over generations. Behind that innovation is an atelier whose artistry extends across every category of fine jewelry. We are honored to preserve that legacy while investing in its future.”
The acquisition also strengthens Sasha Primak’s vertically integrated manufacturing platform while preserving Gemlok’s distinct identity, it said.
As consumers increasingly seek authenticity, craftsmanship, and heirloom-quality jewelry, Sasha Primak said, its acquisition of Gemlok ensures the heritage brand will continue to evolve while remaining true to its values.
