Francesca Villa Goes ‘On the Road’
The capsule collection looks to vintage trunk pins that echo the spirit of speed, freedom, and the mythology of the American road trip.
Designer Francesca Villa’s new “On the Road” collection features one-of-a-kind and limited-edition brooches and necklaces depicting trucks like the “Race On” brooch (left) and the “Long Road” necklace.
Piedmont, Italy—Francesca Villa took the name of her new capsule collection literally, traveling from Italy to Las Vegas to debut it at Couture.
“On the Road” is a collection of one-of-a-kind and limited-edition brooches and necklaces depicting trucks.
Villa drew inspiration from vintage truck pins, small pieces of pop culture that capture the spirit of speed, freedom, and the mythology of the American road trip.
“What interested me was the contrast between their everyday nature and the care with which they had been made,” the designer said. “I wanted to elevate these familiar icons into the world of fine jewelry, treating them with the same reverence as the most precious subjects.”
She reimagined the pins’ silhouettes in 18-karat gold with titanium, hard stones, enamel, and accents of diamonds and colored gemstones.
In two standout necklaces, Paesina picture stone, which is primarily found in Italy, is used to create a mountainous backdrop and the road the truck is driving on.
“The truck became a vehicle for storytelling: a symbol of movement, possibility, and the journeys that shape us. The flame motifs were equally important to me—they evoke speed, energy, and the passage of time, yet they are rendered through months of meticulous craftsmanship,” Villa said.
“I love that tension between motion and stillness, between the rush of the road and the patience required to create something by hand.”

The “Fast Lane” brooch uses Gilson opal, white mother-of-pearl, turquoise agate, blue sapphires, yellow sapphires, rubies, diamonds, and enamel in 18-karat yellow gold ($15,690).
The “Rolling West” necklace depicts a truck made from malachite, white mother-of-pearl, khaki topaz, enamel, and diamonds against a 110-carat Paesina stone backdrop in 18-karat yellow gold with a frame of diamonds, brown diamonds, and green tourmaline. The reverse is a postcard that reads “Enjoy the journey! Love, Francesca” in titanium ($32,710).
The “Race On” brooch in 18-karat white and rose gold features enamel, red rubrum coral, white mother-of-pearl, turquoise, and diamonds ($38,760).
The “Open Road” necklace uses multicolor sapphires, tsavorite, white mother-of-pearl, yellow mother-of-pearl, yellow jasper, diamonds, and enamel over 18-karat yellow gold ($17,380).
The “Welcome to Las Vegas” brooch is a transformable piece that turns into a clock. It uses emeralds, blue sapphires, white mother-of-pearl, rose quartz, prasiolite, malachite, white sapphire crystal, diamonds, and enamel in 18-karat yellow and white gold ($79,070).
The “Trail Blazing” necklace features blue sapphire, citrine, tiger’s eye, yellow agate, diamonds, and enamel with 18-karat yellow and white gold ($20,570).
The On the Road collection serves as a reminder to enjoy the journey, as well as the destination, said the brand.
Its nine pieces—five necklaces, three brooches, and a transformable brooch/clock—retail from $15,690 to $79,070.
