Queens Jewelry Store Employee Beaten in Armed Robbery
Two thieves fled with more than $500,000 worth of jewelry, according to the NYPD.
Police are looking for these two individuals, suspected of robbing Diamond Collect in Queens and beating the jewelry store’s 79-year-old employee.
Flushing, N.Y.—The New York Police Department is on the lookout for two individuals wanted in connection to a violent jewelry store robbery in Queens, one of several reported in New York City this year.
On Wednesday afternoon, two suspects entered Diamond Collect in the borough’s Flushing neighborhood.
The pair brutally beat a 79-year-old female employee, hitting her over the head with a handgun, according to the NYPD.
Surveillance footage shared by the NYPD shows one robber breaking the glass display cases. The woman is on the floor with her hands above her head while the other suspect appears to pull a gun from his waistband.

The robbers fled on foot, leaving with an estimated $500,000 worth of jewelry, said the NYPD.
Medics took the victim to New York-Presbyterian Queens in stable condition.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the individuals seen in the surveillance footage.

The violent incident is one of several recent jewelry store robberies in New York City, with several in nearby Brooklyn.
They include an attempted armed robbery in Sunset Park, the knifepoint robbery of Melissa Joy Manning’s boutique in Cobble Hill, a smash-and-grab robbery at Facets in Park Slope, and another robbery at Roxy Jewelry in the Prospect Lefferts Garden neighborhood.
