Lab-Grown Diamond Brand Lightbox Names New CEO

Antoine Borde joins Lightbox from French food company Danone Group, succeeding Steve Coe.

Antoine Borde is the new CEO of Lightbox. He formerly served as global e-commerce vice president at Danone Group and brings experience in e-commerce, marketing and product innovation to the role, Lightbox said.
London—Lightbox, the lab-grown diamond jewelry brand De Beers Group launched in 2018, has a new CEO, the company announced Friday.
 
Antoine Borde joins Lightbox after serving as global e-commerce vice president at Danone Group, the Paris-based food company whose brands include Evian water and the yogurt marketed as Dannon in the United States. 
 
Prior to that, Borde served as senior vice president for Ecommerce and Digital Transformation at Coty Luxury, following 12 years at L’Oréal, where he led the business’ e-commerce acceleration and held several senior marketing roles. 
 
He has an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Borde succeeds Steve Coe, the longtime Element Six executive who stepped down in July after six years heading Lightbox. 
 
Lightbox said Borde brings a “wealth of experience in marketing, product innovation and digital commerce in consumer-focused businesses” to the role. 
 
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Antoine as the new CEO of Lightbox,” said Marc Jacheet, the new CEO of De Beers Brands. “His record of accomplishments and experience managing within global brand environments make him the ideal fit to advance the Lightbox strategy and reinforce its position as the pre-eminent lab-grown diamond brand. 

“Antoine is an innovator and an expert in digital commerce transformation, and we are confident he can continue to develop the brand’s full potential and drive long-term growth.”
 
Lightbox grows white, pink and blue diamonds at its purpose-built factory outside Portland, Oregon, though Borde will be based out of London, where the company has its corporate headquarters.
