Borsheims Names VP of Technology, Security

Sunil Luthra, formerly the director of information technology, will fill the role.

Sunil Luthra has been promoted to Borsheims’ vice president of technology and security.
Omaha, Neb.—Borsheims has promoted from within to fill the vice president of technology and security office. 
 
Sunil Luthra, formerly the director of information technology, will join the retailer’s executive ranks.
 
Luthra will be tasked with leading the development of the retailer’s technology infrastructure, innovation, and data security.
 
He will also oversee the store’s security team.
 
“Sunil has been an integral part of our growth for the past decade. He is always looking to the future and is a true team player and leader,” said Borsheims President and CEO Karen Goracke in a press release about his appointment.
 
Luthra joined Borsheims in 2010 as the director of information technology, developing new technology strategies to bolster the company’s innovation, efficiency and automation, as well as raising the data security standards.

He recently implemented an enterprise resource planning system, helping to streamline inventory management, data analysis and reporting, product fulfillment and financial operations.
 
Luthra is the co-chair of the Adaptive Jewelry Users Group and a member of parent company Berkshire Hathaway’s CIO Council. 
 
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. 
 
Born in New Delhi, India, Luthra now lives in Omaha with his wife and three children.
