JIS Relocates to Ft. Lauderdale for 2 Shows
Due to renovations at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Jewelers International Showcase has to move its January and April 2017 shows.

Norwalk, Conn.--Jewelers International Showcase will move two of its shows 30 miles north next year as the Miami Beach Convention Center undergoes a massive renovation.
The convention center is in the midst of a $596 million remodel to expand and renovate, adding 290,000 square feet to the 1.2 million-square-foot convention center, including a new 60,000-square-foot grand ballroom.
This will cause the entire building to close in the first half of 2017, forcing JIS to relocate two of its shows--the January and April events--to the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.
The JIS October 2017 show, the flagship event of the year, is scheduled to remain at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
“Miami Beach will always be home to JIS, but the change to Fort Lauderdale for these two shows will be considerably appealing and convenient for our customers,” said Jordan Tuchband, industry vice president of JIS. “The Fort Lauderdale Convention Center is a modern venue in a great location, easy to travel to, with a number of nearby hotels, and large enough to handle these two JIS shows.”
