Frank Adams Jewelers Moves to New Flagship
The fourth-generation family jeweler’s new store is twice the size of its previous location.
The fourth-generation family jeweler relocated to Wolf Road in Colonie, New York, from its previous location in Albany’s Stuyvesant Plaza.
The opening was attended by local elected officials, Capital Region Chamber members, nonprofit tourism company Discover Albany, the Retail Council of New York State, family, and staff.
The 7,500 square-foot location, designed by WCGS Architects and Studio K Design, marks a new chapter for the jeweler.
“Leading this family business into the future is both a pleasure and a privilege,” said Kimberly Adams Russell, president of Frank Adams Jewelers.
“Today, we come together not only to celebrate the opening of our new store but to mark a significant transition signifying our commitment to evolution and growth.”
Founder Frank H. Adams, Russell’s grandfather, opened the business in 1922 on North Pearl Street in downtown Albany as a watch repair shop.
The store later moved to Stuyvesant Plaza, where it was for 30 years until the move in January.
The new store is twice the size of its previous location, said the jeweler, while still being in a convenient spot for its existing customers. It also has increased visibility due to its placement in a popular area.

“This location is more than a physical shift; it’s an opportunity for us to expand, innovate and enhance the customer experience that has defined Frank Adams Jewelers for more than a century,” added Russell.
The flagship store includes a bridal salon and a Rolex boutique with space for private consultations.
Customers can also watch an artisan watchmaker make and repair watches through a viewing room, a nod to the company’s beginnings as a watch repair shop.
In warmer weather, the store will open up its outdoor patio and courtyard with a custom clock tower that will be used to host events and fundraisers.
The store carries several high-end jewelry and watch brands, including David Yurman, Rolex, Tudor, and Longines.
It also recently introduced the “Mine to Shine” program, a retail offering created by Kwiat that lets consumers follow a rough diamond’s path from the mine to an engagement ring.
Frank Adams Jewelers was recently honored by the Albany Business Review, taking home the title of “Family Business of the Year.”
